I have 20 years’ experience in market leading Consumer brands both client & agency side. Prior to joining Starcom I was GM Consumer Marketing for Sony Electrical and previously Company Director of Olympus Imaging. Currently the CEO of Starcom Australia I am inspired by the digital disruption affecting most business and the opportunity through diversity of experience and skills to lead clients transformation.
Over the last 27 years, Matt has enjoyed an extensive career in the global media business. He has had the privilege of working and launching some of the world’s most renowned super brands; Virgin, Apple, BMW, Microsoft, Sony, Wrigley’s and Nissan Renault, to name but a few. His career has taken him across the world living and working in London, Paris & Sydney and operating extensively in over 40 markets around the world. Previously, Matt was Managing Director of Starcom UK as well as part of the global team at Starcom. He was also Managing Director of MGOMD UK, MEC UK and Managing Director of OMD International in London. He has also served extensively as a Global Media Director, operating across the world on brands such as Nissan, Renault, Microsoft and Unilever.
Matt came to Australia in early 2012 as Managing Director of Mi9 Media, overseeing the digital sales commercial operation for the joint venture between Microsoft and Nine Entertainment Co. After NEC’s acquisition of Mi9, Matt became a Group Director of NEC Sales overseeing Powered and Strategy. Matt returned to the Publicis Groupe as CEO of ZenithOptimedia ANZ in November 2015 and was appointed as CEO of Publicis Media ANZ in April 2016.
Chris joined Starcom in 2005 and is currently the COO of Publicis Media ANZ. Chris’ focus is to prepare the company for the future of marketing communication and as Chairman of VivaKi Australia & New Zealand to drive terms of trade to maximise value for clients. Chris has more than 20 years’ experience in the media industry, across a broad portfolio of advertisers. Prior to joining SMG, he was a Managing Partner at Mitchell & Partners, and was also a Director of Mitchell-owned Stadia Media & Executive Director of e-mitch. He has a Bachelor of Science and has studied Masters in Marketing at Monash and Sydney University. Chris is active in community as a Director at Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, board member of the Alfred Foundation and Director of the Western Bulldogs Football Club.
Kurt is Event Director, Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games, and Chief Revenue Officer, Seven West Media, the leading, listed national multi-platform media business in Australia.
It comprises Seven Television, the number one commercial TV network; Pacific Magazines, the nation’s second largest magazine group by readership; Yahoo!7 one of the country’s most successful internet platforms, as well as Western Australia’s leading newspaper, The West Australian and associated WA regional newspapers and radio stations.

Matt became one of the world’s most influential thinkers in the emerging world of brand experience, helping brands like IBM, Microsoft, Qantas, Sony, and Samsung navigate their way into a new world of socially connected consumers and experience-led brand building.
Karl Treacher is an acclaimed behavioural analyst and the Group CEO of The Brand Institute of Australia. He has over 18 years experience working with high profile individuals and iconic organisations across North America, Asia and Australia.
Karl studied science at RMIT and psychology at Monash, and has shaped his career through human-centered, brand-led experience design and innovation. He’s a guest lecturer at Sydney University in its Masters of Marketing program and was Marketing Magazine’s resident Brand Experience and Culture columnist between 2007 & 2015.
Throughout his career Karl has worked with many iconic brands, including: Apple, PwC, OPSM, Audi, Virgin, Chanel, Google, Microsoft, NAB, Optus, Pfizer, QBE and Bupa. Karl has provided strategic advice, counsel and coaching to a range of State and Federal politicians along with other household name individuals.
